Meet the Team

After a tragic accident, Doug Brue re-evaluated his career and decided to build his first single family home in 1983. He learned the whole process first hand for every step of the new construction progress, only hiring subcontractors as needed. After completing this home and
selling it, he started his own company and began building spec. homes. People appreciated his quality and attention to detail. Due to his outstanding reputation, he began getting hired to do various projects for clients - such as kitchens, bathrooms, and lower-level finishing. One homebuyer even hired Doug to finish off the lower level and add on a garage to the home he had just purchased.

He continued to build custom single family homes as well as commercial buildouts. Commercial work included remodeling Eddie Bauer, Disney and Barnes and Noble retail stores. This led to projects in which he managed remodeling and new construction for a local church. During this time he also constructed his own family’s homes.

Throughout Doug’s construction career he has upheld integrity while maintaining respect from his clients and subcontractors. If not hiring him for additional projects of their own, many of his clients have recommended their friends and family to him during the past 40 years. He enjoys helping people turn their dreams into reality!

Joey Brue has been installing various general contracting projects since he was 16 years old. Because Doug Brue wanted Joey to learn the trades without special treatment, Joey spent multiple years as a gutter installer working 90 hour weeks for local general contractors in the Twin Cities area. With a drive to continue “climbing the ladder,” Joey first got involved in selling gutter jobs for a local gutter company.

After finding success in his door-to-door abilities, Joey found his way into selling roofing projects for multiple companies in the local area. After completing his degree in Entertainment Business with a minor in Business Entrepreneurship, Joey began managing a satellite office and sales team for one of these companies. Joey’s success began shining through around the same time his father, Doug Brue was getting ready to retire and move on to new ventures.

Joey’s years of experience in the exterior contracting industry have reshaped DBC’s focus in order to uphold our commitment to excellence. His expertise surrounds roofing, siding, windows, gutters, and interior repair jobs that might be necessary due to failing exterior components. DBC is excited to see yet another 40 years of success in contracting following the Brue name!
